How 2020 Brought my WHY into Sharper Focus

 

As we approach the end of year 2020, I would like to reach out to family, friends, new and old relationships around the world, and wish you each the very best of health, joy and abundance.

I reflect on all that has happened. Not all of this bizarre year in history was easy or welcome but many events pushed me to stretch my capabilities, learn new skills, create new collaborations and start new businesses.

I made new friends, reached more and different audiences and moved closer to my goals on Identity, Influence and Impact.

In less than 12 months: I revamped The Encore Catalyst - shifting its focus from reluctant retirees to eager encore seekers! My WHY is helping others to know their WHY and help them star in the life they design - their Encore! Together, we are setting the stage for exciting new purposes, careers, businesses, inventions, passions, relationships and more!

Groundhog Day - Don't be like Bill

According to U.S. News, 80% of people give up on their New Year’s resolutions by the second week in February – ironically, just after Groundhog Day!

 

If you don't want your life to resemble a sequel to the iconic 1993 movie Groundhog Day, starring Bill Murray, you have to shake some things up, peer deep into your soul, invite change just like the seasons and, most important, have a vision of what your “not-more-of-the-same-drama" life could look like.

At the end of each calendar year, I peer down my proverbial groundhog hole. But rather than wait for sun or cloud to reveal my future – I prioritize creation of an updated visual representation of the future I desire.

No doubt there are some aspects of 2020 we do not wish to repeat in the new year.

Are You Having Fun Yet?

What's the point of having your own business if you're not having fun? Really, considering how hard you work, the sacrifices you make, the risks you face; shouldn't the rewards be as great or greater?
 
With a new year starting very soon, here are some suggestions to help you significantly increase the rewards and returns from your business, minimize the risks and make the ride on the entrepreneurial roller coaster much more fun!
 
1.) Don't Go It Alone
As a small business owner or a "solo-preneur," we have to wear all the hats, perform all the tasks and we often do this in isolation. It is impossible for any individual to have all the knowledge and experience to plan, grow and manage a business.
